PSU Turns on by itself, not when connected to motherboard

Go to solution Solved by Fictionvl,

RMA it. and never ever get a CX Corsair PSU ever again.

I received my corsair cx500 in the mail today. When i plugged it into the motherboard and turned on the PSU, i could hear a faint buzzing, but the psu/case/gpu/cpu fans did not turn on. Also, the monitor was not recognizing the computer being plugged in via HDMI. So i went on corsairs website and performed the paperclip test, and it worked. The psu fan turned on. Earlier when i first opened the psu box and inspected the cables, i noticed an issue with one of the cables but thought nothing of it because it seemed intact. The 4 pin peice of the motherboard cable had a damaged corner and the inside of one of the pins seemed to be misaligned. As this part of the psu is not involved in the paperclip test, i thought that this peice was the issue. Please help.

They're simply are not meant for being underload for a long time and they will just blow up and or burn your other componenst, when you game a lot the system goes underload, the GPU and psu partly, and CX uses really cheap components, the CX series is meant for office use and browsing thats all, its not meant for gaming or high end rigs, you're better of with EVGA or Seasonic

even corsair says that in their website

500W for office use?

And if that is so, what would you recommend for my PC?
