So I posted about an issue I had and here's what it looked like. Video is not mine but it was identical and only appeared for a split second during a game of LoL.

I saw a 15.7.1 driver so I am currently installing that but idk if it's anything to worry about. It was definitely a first and I have not seen this before and it only happened once.

Looks like a dyeing Graphics Card or 2 bad display cable .

Sadly i think it is a dyeing Graphics Card

Mine was definitely not as bad as the video. It only appeared for a split second and the GPU itself is 6 months old at most.

Maybe the HDMI cable? Or packet loss?

Is it both displays?

I only have one display.

It was just a split second while playing LoL. I even thought i was imagining stuff at first.

Game didn't crash or anything.

Windows was probably also downloading updates as when I restarted a bit later it was telling me it was updating.

Just replace the cables.

If that doesn't fix it, clocks it to factory settings

It's already @ stock speeds. And this is the first and only time I've seen it. It's not like it's constant. It just happened and the next milisecond it was gone I couldn't even picture it properly in my head. That's why I'm thinking it might be the updates causing the game to d-sync or something since I know a bad connection, be it internet or display, could cause such a thing.

Yup. A guy with a 280X said he saw it twice - once while browsing and once while coding which makes me think it might either be a driver hick-up (both on 15.7, possibly why there is a 15.7.1 which i downloaded 5 mins ago).

That could be the problem.

Backup the driver to your last driver version.

I updated from 15.7 to 15.7.1 actually :D

But I guess it could be I mean I did have 2 hard crashes in Witcher 3 before I updated to 15.5.

Could it also be the display? I mean, it has several "modes" like gaming, standard, movie, warm and etc. When I change from one to another similar bars flicker for a second and everything is fine.

Funny enough, that is my video I posted a couple weeks ago when 15.7 came out and it has become worse..or different in Windows 10.  I am on 15.7.1 now, same issue.  This issue is not present in 15.6

Underclocking doesn't help.  It has something to do with the idle clocks being too low to drive 2 monitors.  You can see in this video when I move the CCC window the display corrupts, when I stop moving the corruption goes away.  I have nothing open other than CCC.

I have moved my second monitor to my iGPU, but now it isn't letting me set my resolution to 2560x1440 on that monitor, it says I don't have enough bandwidth (HD 4600 supports up to 4K)

Oh wow, I didn't know that :D

I just got pointed towards this video and it looks similar to what I saw but mine only happened in 1 frame of LoL and cause of the framerate I barely noticed it and was even wondering whether i'm seeing things. Only running 1 display though :/

But seeing as this is a driver thing (hopefully) I can at least rest assured the GPU isn't bricked.

Here is one more video showing how it only happens when GPU is idle, and how it stops when I turn my monitors off then on

-snip-

Very odd if you ask me. I guess it's likely the driver then and I should wait for an update before trying to RMA? :D

I mean, I only had it corrupt 1 frame of the game and I haven't noticed anything weird outside of that and now my mind is playing tricks on me cause I am actually seeing things that are not there.

I've seen it both oced and not oced.  It's just a hiccup with the new driver.  It's a bug in the VSR thing.

But I don't have VSR enabled. But still, probably the driver.

I'm not saying you have to have VSR on or off.  It's a bug in the programming of that area the messes with the whole driver causing it to corrupt.  At first I thought my 280xs were acting up, but I looked at the driver and found a bug there in the code that can mess with the whole driver.  It's rare for something like that to happen, but somehow AMD managed to make it happen.  xD

Well, I guess I had my first driver issue in a decade. It feels special. Gonna go buy a cake :D

It didn't got dark, a few bars appeared on a single frame and disappeared as soon as the next frame was displayed - From what I've learned, it's the driver at fault.

I believe your issue, while similar, is different compared to mine.  Both are RAM/Driver related but the circumstances much different.  Mine has to do with idle memory clocks/voltage being too low causing instability with 2 monitors

I assume it's likely the new driver that's acting up but since I'm on a single monitor it's likely not that apparent/a half issue.
