Hi,

I just finished my build and have been doing some temperature monitoring over the last couple of days and have been noticing that my GPU temps (Nitro R9 390) are far too high at aroung 50C at idle. My current Fan config is as follows:

2x 120mm + 1 140mm Fan in front as intake

One 120mm fan in the back as exhaust. For the CPU cooler I use a Deep Cool 400 with the original fan and an coolermaster jetflow in push pull configuration.

Thanks

Jakob

Just curious, how many monitors and what resolutions are you using?

2 monitors, one at 1080p and one at 1280x1024 via a hdmi adapter

That explains it entirely then, on AMD cards, when more than one monitor is connected the VRAM will run at full speed even at idle and can produce quite a bit of heat. My 290 would idle at 50C with two monitors and as soon as I turned the secondary monitor off, the idle temp would go down to 30C.
