Hi guys,

So I am trying to put together my new pc. My psu didn't come with an 8-pin connector that fits into my graphics card, but it did come with a 6-pin.

The gpu its self came with an 8-pin to dual molex connector though, and the psu came with an adaptor.  So what I can do is plug the 8-pin to molex cable into the gpu and connect it to the psu via the molex adaptor which came with the psu.

Does anyone see a problem with this?

Or should I go and buy a 8pin pcie cable?

The adapters should do the trick.

Make sure your PSU is of a high enough wattage to run the r9 290x, as it is a gpu with a high power consumption.

Connecting the cables together does not always mean the setup will work...

| GPU: MSI GTX 970 | CPU: Intel i5 4460 | PSU: Sharkoon 500Watt 80-plus semi-modular | RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws 1600 2x4GB |
