WINDOWS 10 UPGRADE

My PC has very limited storage and I'm interested to upgrade to Windows 10 64 bit. Will the installation remove Windows 8.1 giving more storage space or not? Thanks

It usually leaves previous files in the "windows.old" folder, but Im not sure it would do that if you dont have enough space for it.

Let me make sure I'm clear.... You currently have Windows 8.1 and want to know if you will save storage space by moving to Windows 10? No, not enough to matter. The windows OS takes up about the same amount of space every time. In fact, the Win10 upgrade files will require somewhere around 4GB of free space before you can even go through the process.

if you are worried that you might not have enough space to install the new operating system, then the upgrade process will warn you beforehand.

After the installation is complete you might or might not have a folder "windows.old" on your system drive - just delete it
