BenQ XL2720Z Gaming monitor color problems

Val70

Dear Linus

For almost a year I was using  the BenQ XL2720Z 27 Inch Gaming LED Monitor which according to reviews should be a top gaming monitor.

Unfortunately when it comes to colors accuracy, the colors are always washed-out and have a magenta/green effect. I have tried all tweaking options available (custom and preset modes) and made sure that I have the correct Monitor driver from Benq but this did not solve the problem. the colors looks bad even when watching YouTube videos as people skin tones look green !!

Is this normal? I know that TN panels do not offer as good image quality as IPS but did not expect it to be this bad. Or is it only a Benq issue that will not appear in other TN panels from Acer, Asus and Samsung, or they will be the same as Benq?

I have placed this Benq monitor on side of my desk and currently using an older Samsung LED model which only offer only 60Hz but offer much better color quality. I know the BenQ XL2720Z  is a bad ass when it comes to speed and response time but is was a huge sacrifice in color vibrancy.

I have noticed that you are using the BenQ XL2720Z 27 Inch in your personal setup so are you happy with it from color perspective?

If yes can you please advise me how accurately tweak this thing to get optimum gaming experience ( not only speed ).

If you are having the same problem as me, then why this monitor has that much positive reputation.

I live in Kuwait and I am a big fan of your channel and your sense of humor and your lovely little  baby!!

please advise me what to do with the mighty BenQ XL2720Z

kind regards

if it looks green just turn down green? it should be pretty easy to do since you even have another monitor which you think looks good, just make them both look similar.

You need to calibrate it manually,

presets won't help a lot

Copy the stuff from that, make sure you change the preset mode to standard, at first on my xl2420t I couldn't find the option for standard, but there are 2 pages of presets.

The colour will look washed out compared to a IPS or whatever, but you should still get decent balance.

All the benq monitors I've used, the calibration settings I've found online have looked decent, it's worth a try.

Edit: I think I miss interpreted you post.

Edit: I think I miss interpreted you post.

I meant the "gaming" "movies" etc modes,

downloadable presets are generally better
