it will keep every single thing even your current settings. source:upgraded from 7 to 8 to 8.1.

Yes there is ways to do the upgrade in a "non destructive" way.  But don't do yourself that injustice.  Please do a clean install and save yourself a ton of headache in the long run.

Yes there is ways to do the upgrade in a "non destructive" way.  But don't do yourself that injustice.  Please do a clean install and save yourself a ton of headache in the long run.

if the install is fairly new it's not a big deal. and if you have an ssd you won't notice a thing.  I would upgrade and do a clean install IF problems occur.
