For my new gaming build I'm looking at a few psu choices. Not sure if 450 watts is enough for a i3 4160 and a r9 280. So I have the seasonic 520w 80+ certified fully modular power supply. And the seasonic 450w 80+ gold certified modular psu. The are the same price. Which should I get

No harm in getting the 520W. Allows for more upgrade headroom and both are good PSUs.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

And 80+ bronze vs 80+ gold. You would still go for the extra power?

Gold rating doesn't help with overclocking or anything. Unless you really need those couple of dollars you will save from the slighty reduced power draw, it's better to give your computer more wattage headroom.

Yep. You won't be able to tell the efficiency difference with power draw like yours (nearly none)
