A lot of people into pc's and such seem to have an interest in biking (whether it be roadbikes or mtnbikes, usually not bmx) and I was wondering if anyone else that spends all there money on pc's has enough leftover money for biking.  And there is a population of people who spend time building and modding there bikes much like most of us (way more expensive than buying an "aio", opposite when considering pc's).

I've got a couple of bikes around. I quite like restoring older road bikes and getting them going again however they're hard to find if I don't put any money into getting them. I go mountain biking (mainly cross country/trail) quite a lot - mainly in the north west due to bushfires/closed trails elsewhere as well as a fair bit of urban riding. My favourite bike would probably be my 2011 Specialized Stump Jumper Comp - a 29er with ally frame weighing in at 10.9kg. Needs a service but I haven't got around to it yet.

I modded my Honda NSR125 and put 350cc engine in it, i had to strengthen basis for that huge engine.
(Now it is fast).

I prefer walking, but that's because I still can't get a drivers license (minimum age of 18 here), and drivers here are maniacs (inches away from a crash is fine, pedestrians mere inches away and still show no fear, etc.) so I won't exactly feel safe... But I used to ride my bike (bmx) around until I got lazy XD

I'm sure there are nice people who cycle but after spending ten years driving up the Nepean and dodging dumb cyclists who refuse to use the bike path and complain about drivers my patience has worn a bit thin.

I love mountainbiking! I have a Bulls Copperhead 3 (light alloy, full Deore XT, reba front shocks). I cycle about 3 times a week.

hay wind ... I've been thinking on getting a 29er for commute and abit of single track around here and I'll take it down to canberra.

how do they go on hills, also do you find the rims buckle more easily?

I just ride a flat bar giant ... made out of steel, some nice rims goes good for commuting.

But looks shit enough so no one steals it

used to ride a KHS when i was younger but killed it by going big too many times

Its all about those volumetric clouds

I don't know if I would go with a 29er for commuting. The wheelbase on mine is about 1.2m and tip to tip is about 1.8m which is pretty dam long. There's a good half a meter between the bar and the front of the wheel. I've found I get quite a lot of bounce on the back wheel due to the large distance behind the seat however the turn circle is pretty nice with mine purely because of the design of the frame.

I'm assuming you're talking up toward Morrabbin and beyond into the city? I will never understand the logic of some people..

The kids from like Brighton and Haileybury aren't too bad but those damn commuters..

It's the ones decked out in all lycra suits with the multi billion dollar bikes that cause the most grief I've noticed.
