Yes I have thought about that but wouldn't an at2020 be better especially if I can get them for the same price? 

YES get the AT2020, not the Snowball, hahaha.

I bought a used AT2020 XLR online and it works great. You can get a lot of great production tools for cheap if they're used.

Most pro style gear is built with heavy, and abusive use in mind, the good stuff generally doesn't break. It may look like hell, but generally it will still work just fine.
