Hey guys. I built my computer about 2 and a half years ago. My specs were originally a saphire hd 7770, i3 2120, gskill ripjaws ram (8gb) and a gigabyte mother board (not sure what exact one, a low end pci 2.0 x 16 board). Now i have a gtx 760 which ive had for about a year. My cpu is really starting to bottle neck it and i was wondering if the I5 3570k was still an option for upgrading? I dont have enough money for a MOBO and a cpu, or i would go with the newest processor i could. Is there anywhere that you can still find that processor? Is it worth it?

Yes, the 3570k is still a very worthwhile CPU and can probably be found from Amazon third-party sellers/ebay. What motherboard do you have though (there should be some markings on the board itself).

Although, are you sure it's your cpu and not your GPU (a 7770, is a 250x iirc, which your i3 shouldn't be bottlenecking --- in most games).

Yup! I still use a Ivy Bridge CPU (i5 3550) and it works well with recent AAA titles.

Actually the i5 3550 is Ivy Bridge....

Woops, that's what I meant, I always mix up those two generations. Thank you.

In my post i said i upgraded to a gtx 760, which isnt running to its full potential. In gta V my cpu usage is at 100% and my gpu core clock is only going to 540MHZ on normal/high settings and im getting a solid 45fps but i know that card should beable to do more. In some other games where my cpu isnt completley maxed out the gpu core clock is 1163MHZ
