I think it's quite common for PC builders to constantly want to upgrade their hardware into the current generation specs. However I know it's not practical and EXTREMELY expensive to build an entire system from scratch on a yearly basis or at least when the new generation is released.

So what do you guys think?

I personally want to upgrade every 3 generations, but my GPU is already having a hard time with most AAA title at medium specs. :|

So I was thinking of getting a 770 or just wait a year more and go for the 800 series. (P.s please don't urge to go AMD. I think they have great products, but I'm loyal to Nvidia and I personally like their driver support WAY better.)

You would be happy with a 770. Honestly personally especially when going Nvidia I would never go under their "X60" product. Anything under that just isn't good enough for game, eg. 450, 550, 550ti, etx etc. That is where-in your problem lies.

Well, if not AMD, grab a 760 or 770. Both should last several years just fine.
