That's because you're hooked up via VGA. You need a digital connection for VSR.

That could be because of VGA or it could be a bug that has been known with 15.7. I had to install the drivers a few times then it showed up

Then you can't use VSR. For VSR to work, you need a modern flat panel display with DVI, HDMI, or DisplayPort connection from your graphics card.

yup, VGA is an analogue connection, VSR requires a digital connection. Its time for a new monitor! you're 285 deserves it! 1366x768 is so 2001!!

well since VSR provides 1080p so i need DVI monitor even 768p or 900p , so can u suggest a good monitor "cheap one" has DVI connector? keep in mind i dont ask for 1080p HD monitor.

VSR doesn't provide 1080p..

VSR down scales a higher resolution (4k) to 1080p to give smoother visuals.

it basically just does a better job than anti aliasing.

buying a new monitor souly for VSR is a really dumb idea.. seriously isn't worth it.

buy yourself a new monitor only if you want one.. if you're happy playing at 1366x768 then stick too it..

however I'd buy a new monitor regardless..

1080p is even low resolution these days and its HD monika should be removed.. 1080p looks terrible unless on a 24" or smaller screen.. even then it's still bad!

well, and what about a guy cant afford monitor with more than 1080p ?! thats if he even can get the 1080p monitor now? and whats the reason of getting monitor has more than 1080p on r9 285 gpu? this is the real waste of money u know.

the 285 is more than capable of maxing out almost every game at 1080p 60fps.. its wouldnt be a waste of money at all... with your current monitor you may as well have a r7 260.. 

 

if you cant afford a monitor thats fair enough... but thats the only reason youll get VSR and again like i said, if youre only after a new monitor for VSR then youre really wasting your money.

 

you NEED a POWERFUL graphics card to make use of VSR in modern games.. you want somthing like a 390x or better to play modern games using VSR as they have to run the game at 4k... if you think a 285 will struggle with 1080p then image what it will do with 4k

I'm using an Acer HDMI->VGA adapter...

I'm on 1080p on a 1366x768 monitor (you can confirm by searching the model, shown in the image above)...

 

 

This is roundabout but I set desktop resolution to 1080p first, before going in game... I should not have to set that, but... yeah...

Edit: and no, you cannot use VSR if your monitor is connected via DVI-D->VGA.. I tried to do it before...

I said if you want a 1080p monitor just for vsr then it's a waste of money.

for you getting a 1080p monitor would be like getting an entirly new pc! it's over 50% more pixels..
