Comment my new build

Hello

Need some opinions on my new project
Here is the list:
Asrock h97 pro4
Xfx pro core 550w
Intel i5 4460
G.skill Ripjaws 2x4GB 1600mhz
Antec Gx 500
Asus PCE-N15 wifi card
Samsung 850 EVO 120 gb
WD 1TB HDD
(3 Additional) Noctua NF-P12b 120mm fans

Additional information:
-Cheapest wifi card I can get  (my entire household is wifi dependant)
-I am obsessed with low temperatures that why I added 3 additional fans (cheap,efficient and quiet)
-The list does not include graphics card; will rely on the one integrated in the CPU (It can handle "easy games" like LOL right?)
-another reason for not having a graphics card (yet) is I cannot afford it (Wait until September); will get a gtx 970
-Nothing personal AMD, but I just like Nvidia better (please lets keep gtx 970 as a done deal)
-Allready have a monitor,keyboard and a mouse

Well... the 390 performs better for the same price though... but ok? And currently nvidia is the one with messed up driver revisions. Display driver failures withstanding, both companies are experiencing those roughly equally.

 

Anyway, its fine really. I'd have gotten a different SSD, but only because of personal experiences with the 850 evo. All 5 of the ones I've worked with have been DOA. Everything else is fine really,

Nvidia has quicker driver release and has more options in nvidia control panel to use, plus running at 80-90c will kill a gpu quicker than a 60-70 at high loads on a 970.

Honestly I don't know why people choose AMD gpus. From what I hear, AMD is really bad about releasing drivers/updating drivers. Also typically games run better on nvidia cards (and what i mean by that is how nvidia often pays devs to make it run like shit on amd platforms) and in some games with the nvidia gameworks from what i hear it makes games run very terrible on amd gpus. Also AMD gpus run hotter than nvidia ones, and use much more power.

My house is also wifi dependent. It's literally not possible where i live to get anything beside satellite or wireless internet. hell, it wasn't until last december when i bought a grandfathered verizon wifi hotspot for fast, unlimited internet, that i finally got good internet in my house. before that it was either satellite internet with very high latency and bullshit data caps, or phone companies with good speed but even more bullshit and more expensive data caps.

Maybe because amd gpu's are much cheaper then nvidia. And the driver support is getting better with amd. I would always go amd -> nvidia (unless something changes and nvidia drops their prices). Cause when i bought my r9 270, here in the netherlands it had the same price as the 750TI, yet being much better then it

From all the reviews I have read they all crown the samsung as the king of SSDs...you are actually the first that had bad experience with ALL of them

I forgot to mention; the SSD is probably the only component I am willing to change. Was thinking the Crucial mx100 or bx100 (both 120GB)

You shouldn't have issues with it, I seriously doubt you will at least. I've been very unfortunate that ever 850 series ssd I've worked with has either been DOA or died withing months of going into a system. That is very unusual. You'll be fine with it, I wouldn't worry.

Cheaper doesn't mean better. I'd rather go with one I'm more likely to keep longer than one that's going to shit out on me

AMD has actually got more stable drivers right now compared to Nvidia. And no, games DONT run typically better on nvidia, that's a really bad fanboy thing started by nvidia's marketing team and their "How it's meant to be played" campaign. If a game is optimized heavily for nvidia then it will tend to run better yes, but most games these days are neutral. And it's true a lot of games that release with gameworks are often buggy on AMD platforms for a week or so after release, but generally get patched in.

 

When buying a GPU the only thing to consider is, what you want to do, what your price is, and then what cards are in that price range. If you're in the price range of a 970 though, then there is very little reason to go with a 970 over a 390. The only reason one should choose a 970 these days is, 

1. They value power-consumption over performance
2. They really, really, really like the color green, and are willing to ignore facts to satiate their need for the color green in their lives.

The 390 has more than double the usable vram, meaning a much longer life-span as games use more and more, it has a higher performing core, and costs the same, sometimes even less if you can find a sale, though the same can be said for the 970. It's honestly, just a better card if you're looking at the specs.
