So I'm needing to add a ssd to my pc for sometime now and I've been looking into a few at the moment. Keeping in mind I'm on a budge a couple of brands pop up such as kingston and crucial, so I was wondering if these brands are reliable?
The alternative option is getting one shipping from overseas (I live in NZ, so pc parts are quite pricey) and dealing with not having warranty

My Little Gaming Rig:

CPU: FX 8320 | MOBO: Gigabyte 970A-D3P | RAM: G.Skill Ares 2x4GB | GPU: Sapphire Dual-X R9 270X | Storage: Seagate SSHD 1TB | Case: Corsair 200R | PSU: CM 550W V-Series

Upgrades to come: CPU FAN: Corsair H100i | RAM: 2 more 4GB sticks | GPU: Another R9 270X running in crossfire | Storage: Samsung 120GB SSD | PSU: Corsair 800w

Don't get Kingston or PNY. They've been linked to a scandal in the performances on their ssd's recently so you don't want to get that. Get hyperX, samsung, crucial, sandisk or something like that. Those are pretty reliable so you should be fine. Just read the reviews on ssd's you come across and see if anyone has any problems with reliability and you should be good to go.

the cheapest 250gb I could find in my area is a crucial bx100 250gb, 535MB/s reading and 370MB/s writing, comes with 3 years of warranty. Would you happen to know if this card is decent?

Yeah. It's not a bad SSD at all. It should do just find for all of your purposes and last you a very long while. I would definitely suggest getting it if it's the cheapest one available.

Samsung are still at the top of the list

HyperX and Crucial are also reliable, but not as much

Sandisk is something that would fit in if you're tight on budget

Avoid Kingston, they have declined in quality for a few years now

That's only on the V300. They sell other drives, and the other drives are perfectly fine.

Don't lump their entire line up under one product.

It's the principle of it! lol I understand that they sell other drives that are good but it's still something worth noting. Same with PNY. I lost a bit of respect for Kingston when it came out that Kingston was doing that so I don't really want to buy or recommend any of their products.
