Looking for a power supply

Go to solution Solved by STRMfrmXMN,

I need a nice, good looking, power efficient, easily cable managed power supply cheaper than the corsair cx500 ~$50 US (unless that is the best option). My case is the corsair air 240 (just in case of size issues) and my graphics card is the sapphire radeon r7 260x. On the box, the gpu says it requires 500w, and i need to know if that is true because on pc part picker it said i needed less. So all in all i need to know if i really need 500 watts and what the best power supply is for my wattage and price range. thanks.

An Antec BP 550W can do ya justice. Not sure if that's cheaper where you live.

EDIT: You should be fine with the CX500 - it's separated by other things in that case (was worried about ambient temp tolerance but it's no issue here) and has black cables. Go for it.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

500w is an over-recommendation and such is common for graphics cards.

A decent 350w would already be plenty. EA380D: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/antec-power-supply-ea380dgreen

500w is not a bad option for future upgrades. 500B1: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-100b10500kr
