Hello!

 

i decied to buy a haswell system!

 

i heard that haswell and ivy have bad thermal paste inside?

 

that means when i buy a haswell i need to change thermal paste inside the CPU to have the CPU at great temps?

 

 

what i have heard that this is a safer way to remove the heatspreader. well i am kinda scared that if i buy a haswell then i need to take the CPu apart.

but i will get bad temps and wont be able to overclock good or i will complettly not be able?

I have seen some videos and they showed all haswells 4 cores one of the cores was around 90-95 C

You'll be able to overclock it, just not as well as Sandy or Ivy

 

Ivy have same problem have i heard. can  overclock it to 4.5 ghz?

Don't even consider this till you know you have an issue

Get a cheap 2500k, I'm disappointed in the latest generations, not sure how long they'll last under an overclocked workload, especially seeing another guy not being able to get 4.3 GHz under 90c on an ivy B

Hm nope , sry i wont get any old gens CPUs. i want the new. If my chip have this kind of problem i will probaly search up someone who can chnag thermal paste. if i dont find someone i rish it my self.

 

But is it possible to get a good chip wiht no heat problems?

well thats the newest so ofc i will. only thing i am afraid of the thermalpaste that i need to reapply it:D

I'm kinda intrigued how this will go lol. You should do it and be the first one in this forum. If you fail, you should post a thread and warn people not to de-lid a Haswell

im using arctic mx-2 on my delided 4770k

 

all i can say is temps are getting better after 1.5 weeks. saw a drop of over 10c on a semi custom loop.

 

i tried as5 on the delid . temps increased after 2 weeks. same ambient conditions with lots of stress testing.

 

same result with arctic ceramique temps increased

It depends on the chip that you get. You may get an excellent chip that is great in overclocking or you may get a bad chip that doesn't overclock at all/overclocks a bit. If I were to overclock a Haswell processor, I would get a H220 or a NH-D14 (check clearance with ram, case, and motherboard).

What cooler will you be using? It will not be that much of a factor if you have good cooling or are not going to do a crazy OC.

i will try to delide one of my ol CPUS today. a penitum 2. i use to save old CPUs. they are beautifull:D

I would recommend you DO NOT delid

 

I am an experienced tech, I have the proper skill set to perform the task proficiently

I know that you're just asking questions but if you're asking if you should de-lid your CPU chances are you don't need too. Plus you don't have your computer yet and you don't know if the CPU that you get will be good or not.
