A friend has a 4 years old Acer laptop with a 1st gen i5 and a normal SATA II interface. There is also an unused small connector. He wants to get an mSATA SSD, but I am not quite sure whether its a mpcie or msata connector, because the laptop is rather old, also there is no screw in the front of the connector about some few centimetres away at the end of the actual SSD, so I think its mPcie. What are the actual optical differences between the connectors?
