RAID Merging

I currently have a RAID 0 disk setup (2x1tb ssd) within my PC however I don't have any backup drive for the system. I was just wondering if it was possible add raid 1 to this array with the use of one 4 tb hdd I have spare.

 

1. What the performance loss there would/might be?

2. If this was possible to do without having to re-strip the disks on the current array?

3. worth backing up at all as mechanical drives are more likely to break anyway?
