i need a video card that will last around 3-4 years and will be able to play 1440p max (for at least a year or two, then i'll switch to 1080p) (also some recommendations for a great gaming 1440p monitor wouldn't hurt). some say get 970 sli, some 980 sli, a few 980 ti or 980 ti sli. max money (for the card/cards) is 1600$ (for the monitor 800$ - 900$)

390X - 8 gigs of VRAM and the same performance of a 980 for cheaper usually. Almost identical power consumption 30-ish W difference.

EDIT: If you want a bit more. R9 Fury (non-X) for 550USD - Nvidia has nothing in this category.

EDIT:2 with that budget you can even crossfire them if you want but 1 is already enough.

BTW, your build doesn't have a Power Supply :D

Also, get the OS from reddit for 20 bucks.

980 Ti, SLI them in the future when you start losing frame rates.

AMD has some offers but I'm not aware of any.

Considering his case form, I doubt SLI would be good. Maybe only 1 980Ti/Fury/Fury X

390x is not even remotely close in power consumption as 980. 980 draws almost half the power....

Yeah, it's probably better to get a new card when he starts losing frames.

I'm also questioning the Fury and Fury X, some of them have coil whine issues (not severe but still present).

Erm, the 980 consumes about 170W whereas the 390X consumes 209.

That has been fixed as it was only a few cards during the first wave. Since then the pump has been altered and no more pump noise can be heard

It doesn't matter for someone living in Saudi Arabia however.

Power bills are super cheap there :-D

Move to the Middle East @MarkoCroatiaMC!

Sapphire's Fury has some coil whine but as I've stated not too severe.

HHAHAHAHAH thanks for noticing bro

I'll help some more by recommending SeaSonic Snow Silent 750W (I think there was one like that). Probably the best PSU on the market.

Agreed but doing a SLI 980 Ti won't be worth it in the long run as Pascal is approaching (next year).

Think what you will but 980Ti SLI will be viable for a long time.

sorry for looking stupid, but what is Pascal?

Pascal is Nvidia's next GPU architecture

I'd say Fury X for the lower temps (58*C max) and lower noise.
