When in the terminal. use Tab to finish names of folders and files. Especially when programming this will save you soooo much more time than you can imagine right now. Not sure whether this was the type of info you were looking for...?

Taskbars, Guake terminal. Ubuntu is pretty easy to use as it is.

Also:

- Terminator is a great terminal, it allows you to have multiple tabs next to or beneath each other

- Google and stackoverflow are your best friends

- Use Gedit (the default editor) when you are learning python, not an IDE
