If a capacitor on a PSU is slightly bent cause of the adhesive/glue but still functions normally (not bloated, not leaking) is it considered faulty or is it safe to use? Example image

That's what I've been told - as long as it's well soldered to the PCB, then it's not an issue.

It's fine as long as the pins on it aren't breaking somehow. This happens a LOT, so it's probably okay.

Not a stupid question though. Actually a very good one addressing a very important component of a computer.

While the bent capacitor may not look ideal, as long as it's making proper contact and the soldering is fine, the capacitor is still fully functional and safe - assuming the capacitor itself is fine.

It's safe if it's fully discharged. It's no different than any other component holding an electrical charge - it's just more deadly. You shouldn't be poking around on any charged component.

It works fine and this is quite a bit more bent that what I saw on mine through the fan grate. Was just curious. No random shutdowns/resets. No missed POSTs, no failed power-on attempts. Everything is fine and stable.
