Best CPU for my motherboard?

I've been with my computer for about 2 years and my CPU is starting to fail me. It's an AMD A4-5300 (3.4ghz with 2 cores, pretty weak). I use an Asus F2A55-M LK. The list of supported CPUs is right here:

I plan to play games like CS:GO, LoL, Payday 2, and Killing Floor 2. If you want to recommend a CPU and Mobo combo I'd rather keep it in the $100ish range because I'm not super desperate for a new CPU. Thanks!

The best CPU for your Motherboard would be the AMD Athlon x4 760k.

The best APU the A8 6600k (i believe)

You cannot delete posts, report them in the lower right corner and hope for a moderator to delete it. 

@Ronnie76 He'd at least be paying ~170€ for an i3 + motherboard. 

For 75€ he can get the 760k which is a fantastic low end CPU, AFAIK with better IPC than the FX Line.

If you're using a dGPU: Athlon X4 750K/760K

Look at the CPU model carefully, your mb is FM2, not FM2+

Definitely get the 760k. But if you need an APU, (you probably don't) then get the A10-6800k.

Comparing all cores of the 760k vs an i3 and you can see that the performance gap is minimal. You will easily achieve 3.6-4.3GHz on a 760k aswell and that will cost him almost 100$ less. The upgrade is worth it if he doesn't play demanding games and is just a casual gamer. Obviously the Intel route would be optimal for someone who knows hes gonna upgrade to an i5/i7 in the future. 

Don't forget that hes on a dual core a4 5300.. 

Also for a Pentium + Z97 (without Z97 he can't overclock and the Pentium has no chance against the x4) you're paying about as much as for an i3.

And on the Topic of 2 intel cores translating into 4 amd cores:

GTA V requires a minimum of a c2q q6600 or a phenom 9850 (4 cores) and with fm2 he won't be playing AAA games at max settings anyways.

I also reccomend Athlon 760K, could go with i3, but it wouldnt gain you much since 760K is enough to fully use GTX 650 and would cost more.
