Fallout 3 not Working?

When I press play it just cuts out. I'm using windows 8.1

try the microsoft games for windows fix? if not download this , install then try to play again , i had to this to get it to play

the current list of dead cards is as follows 2 evga gtx 980ti acx 2.0 , 1 evga gtx 980 acx 2.0 1600mhz core 2100mhz ram golden chip card ... failed hardcore , 1 290x that caught fire , 1 hd 7950 .

Well that fixed it. Now I feel stupid. How do I mark as Solved?

no problem , it took me awhile to find the fix too , and i don't remember , i think there's a button at the bottom of posts ? its been awhile since ive had a thread of my own lol
