Ideas for a raspberry pi

Any ideas? Thanks! :)

 

Mines a local file server for my house and I push test builds of websites on it to test with my local devices

load win10, get a BT dongle for a wireless controller, install steam.

stream games from main mega rig with SLI to livingroom tiny rass Pi.

 

home streaming from popcorntime in a small form factor. (use USB wireless mini keyboard/mouse combo.)

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

i am confused.

 

I use to hold files on my network, since i'm too cheap to get a router that can do it for me

and how would you do that seeing though that the pi has an ARM CPU and windows 10 requires a x86 cpu?

the second gen of the pi has a special version of windows 10 for it.

raspberry Pi2 is win10 compatible.

Yes but it is not your normal "desktop environment". It's a platform for creating things. https://dev.windows.com/en-us/iot

Also Steam won't run on a Pi since it doesn't have a x86 cpu. If you want to stream games to your Pi your only option is LimeLight: http://lifehacker.com/turn-a-raspberry-pi-2-into-a-cheap-diy-steambox-for-in-1693120019

If you want to have Popcorn Time on your Pi you need to use OpenElec/Kodi with a special extension.

i need help with openelec I have put it on my pi and on boot after a minute an error message comes up in the corner.

First format your SD card with "SD card formatter" https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/ then you need to write the image to the sd card with Win32DiskImager: http://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/ 

If you have done that correctly it should work fine.

XBMC well Kodi now. Absolutely great. Never pay for a movie or TV show again and live cable support all for free.
