Okay so I'm wondering does having a backplate on your GPU effect cooling at all? I have noticed my card seems to heat up a lot more then my previous one. Yeah I know it's a 980ti but it's the fact no matter how many fans I put on it it doesn't seem to help. I'm wondering if the backplate is trapping the heat off the back of the card as if by removing it and letting it be able to be pulled off from my exhaust fans it'll help the card run cooler??

For metal backplates like EKWB they can help cool memory chips on the back and spread it around.
