Hello,

I want to start a thread on how to pick parts for a  PC where i will be advising people on how to pick parts for your PC. The thread will be dealing with LGA 1150 socket. I AM AWARE of other sockets such as LGA 2011, but they will get a dedicated thread as if i start including other sockets then the thread is gonna get longer and longer and people will be like "TL;DR". These threads will be aimed at Newbies/n00bs/ameteurs.

SO, how is that for an idea?

EDIT: If you still don't understand my aim, then basically it's like a Intel based Buyers Guide.

the thread will help one in picking parts for a PC and will also make the lives of the more knowledgeable people easier, as they can refer those newbies to that thread.

LGA 1150 won't matter as much seeing as Skylake (LGA 1151) is no more than 2 weeks away.

Skylake is gonna be too darn expensive. And yes, i will also be dedicating a thread to LGA 1151 socket as well.

Sounds good, but why do you include newbies???? Just because I'm new to this website doesn't mean I don't know about building systems.

Some newbies are also n00bs. Plus this could be an opportunity for some to gain more knowledge and be as knowledgeable as the elites in terms of building PC's

I don't think it will be that expensive. It will more than likely be the same price as Haswell/Haswell Refresh at launch.

Seeing as Skylake is only 2 weeks away now, in my opinion it would be pointless to have a thread for LGA 1150.

Yes, but only for Z97 and H97 motherboards.

Yea, and like i said, there will be a thread dedicated for that platform too!

no disrespect, but our New Builds and Planning subforum has a pretty good

success rate. making a dedicated thread for the same thing is repetitious and

could be confusing for the community. we have many members already have

done the same (links in their sigs) and they don't seem to get any traction.

the power of many in a subforum usually gets the nod than a single thread.

but do what you gotta do.

^ and the fact that YT is full of build guides which also talk about how to choose parts. Some with just basics and others in more detail. You would be better to take some of more confusing topics, like bottlenecks and talk about those. Then you can "spam" your guide to topics that are asking about bottlenecking. That style is already in good work for installing Windows, configuring SpeedFan, Intel Overclocking etc.

Not to offend. But newbie is general term that describes person who is new to something. Its usually shortened to noob, or n00b since "noob" in gaming scene can be somewhat offensive and banned in chats.

But just because I am new to this particular website doesn't mean I need an Intel build guide. You don't have to be apart of these forums to know a thing or two about computers.

Did you even read my post? The guide isn't targeted to you. Your forum rank is post count based. Everyone who joins forum gets newbie rank regardless of their tech knowledge.
