I have an evga 970 with one HDMI, one displayport, one DVI-I dual link, and one DVI-D dual link. I have my primary monitor attached with an HDMI cable, second attached with a VGA cable (only one supported by the monitor) with a VGA to DVI-I adapter, I tried connecting my third monitor with a VGA to DVI-D adapter and it did not work, I suspect the adapter is faulty.

If I used this would both monitors still show up as separate monitors on Nvidia control panel?
