Need help planning budget build

I am looking to build a budget computer for University. Tasks such as photoshop, simple programming, web design, light games such as league of legends, watch movie on one screen while doing homework with excel/photoshop etc on the other screen. 

 

This is what I have for the build so far. But I am fairly clueless about these stuff so advice would be greatly appreciated. 

 

CPU: AMD FX 8350 4.0 ghz 8 core     ($220 for CPU + Motherboard ebay)

Motherboard: Asus M5A78L

SSD:  Samsung 850 Evo 500gb 2.5 inch SATA III   ($180 Amazon)

Hard Drive : None

GPU: Manufacturer Refurb MSI R9 280X  ($200 ebay)

RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 2x8gb 1866MHz DDR3 ($100 Amazon)

Power Supply: 700w Gaming ATX power supply ($40 ebay)

Case: Undecided

Fans: I have no clue what I need

OS: Plan to duo boot Windows 10 and Ubuntu Linux which is why I choose 500gb ssd

 

I live in Vancouver, Canada but I can buy American items and get it shipped to my PO box near the border.

Won't use this computer to really game at all. If it can run games such as league at minimum settings 60fps + I'm happy.

Made a good ITX build,

I went with an i5-4460 since it was close to the same price as the 8350, and much stronger. the Amd cpu may have 8 cores, but they're weak cores.

went with a h97 motherboard with built in wifi.

For the storage honestly it would be probably $70 cheaper if you got a 128gb ssd and a 1tb hdd, but i took your preference into account.

I left out the video card since you already had plans for it.

Prefer silent when just watching movies and stuff. But airflow good when doing more intensive tasks.

Please link that PSU, I wouldn't recommend buying second PSUs especially if they're not great quality

Also don't use a 8 core CPU with a 78 motherboard, you should only use it with a good quality 970 like the MSI SLI Krait or MSI Gaming or any 990 board

Yeah don't even touch that PSU I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't meet ATX standards or set your build on fire.

Also with the case I chose it comes with a fairly decent 200mm fan at the front. I recommend buying a second fan for the back to use as an exhaust fan http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-case-fan-co9050001ww that way you'll have good air flow through the case

I checked out the case you included and I really like the design of it. Great suggestion. I also noticed that you suggested 8gb ram instead of 16gb. Would 8gb ram be sufficient for heavy multitasking? I am one of those people that open 30 chrome tabs at once.

yeah, I wouldn't get that. For starters i'm not familiar with that brand. second being 700w is more than you really need, and lastly it's too cheap, which makes me think something is wrong with it. never cheap out on the psu of your computer

8gb should be plenty of ram in most situations I'd say. and having tabs open isn't too draining depending on what you're doing. I have a shitty laptop with 6gb of ram that can have dozens of tabs open

Another thing about the case and build, I didn't include an aftermarket cooler. The stock cooler should be good enough, but the case does give room if you ever want to throw in water cooling,
