So today I was trying to install linux on my dell Poweredge 1950 server and it does not have a dvd drive installed! So I took the alternative route of uaing a USB drive preloaded with linux. But when I go to boot from the USB it just sits there and blinks!!! I left it alone for about 30 mins while I ate lunch and when I came back is was doing to same thing!!! Plz help me!

Can you elaborate a bit more on that? Blinks what, does it say something like press any key to boot from USB and you press keys and it blinks as if you were going to type something? Try a different USB port and a restart of the server by the way. (By restart I mean off pull all cables since most servers have an idle off)

I did everything you said and tried to boot it up with the USB again and this is what happens! https://youtu.be/aY6yLr9OmzQ

Have you tried reimaging the USB stick with a fresh Linux install? Also I assume you tried a different USB port right?

Ok! Last night I was looking at the Ubuntu forms (Ubuntu is  the linux OS I am most familiar with) and a couple people had the same problem as me! They said that any version higher than 14.04! So today I will try booting from a later vertion of Ubuntu and if that doesn't work I will try CentOS! And this is a game server btw! so some of the games don't support certain distros! But thank you again!
