I went from taking roughly a minute to start windows down to 10-20 seconds.

 

My PC is overall running a shitload better now that I've got an ssd instead of my janky ass old slow hard drive lol.

Yes, they do. Most people who haven't used one themselves just go on about the boot times. But an SSD is much, much more than just boot times.

 

SSD's makes your whole system a lot more responsive.

You can get a nice 120gb ssd for $50 if you watch sales.. Start times alone pay for that then on top of that the loading of all your games is great unless you enjoy waiting

Any game that loads maps, for example, BF4, really benefits from an ssd. Rather than 5 mins of loading in its 30 seconds or less.

my 250 evo loads me in at about 15 seconds and that's at 4k

yes i wouldnt build another pc with out one. upgraded every pc i own and laptop i own with an ssd only my kids laptop i didnt upgrade cuz he only uses it a few days a month. and my wife wont let me touch her all in one cuz she thinks its perfect as is with her low end laptop hdd

I have seen computer that have a new fresh copy of windows on the take 5 minutes to turn on because the hdd is old.

So take that into consideration and YES for the SSD and no to boot off a HDD.

It"s really difficult to justify the cost for a SSD if you haven't experienced one yet, try playing around with a frieds pc who has one. I was like why pay that much for an ssd when I could get 10 times the capacity for less, but after using a friends pc with an ssd in it, I was convinced and got mine. It's a huge difference
