Hi guys, I bought a used i5-2500k off of eBay a couple of dayz ago qnd installed it. Worked fine, so i didnt bother to check temps or anything, but fast forward to last night when i checked. 94 degrees celcius while playing dayz, 54-64 degrees idle. I dont know what the problem is. I have done prime 95, but i have opened the side of the pc open and put a fan next to it and im getting a max of 95 degrees. I noticed that my cpu fan only runs at 800 rpm, and the heatsink is a little small.(but the numbers are sooo high!)

Yeah, try to reapply the thermal paste, make sure to clean the old one properly first. Are you sure you have plugged your fan into the CPU fan header on your motherboard?

yea, i can see all the rpm and everthing

800rpm? That sounds quite slow for a CPU fan while at max load

It's completely blown out of proportion. Also if you're the least bit worried about data gathering then you should go live in a cave a 1000Km from the nearest establishment simply because every device and every entity gathers information these days. In the current era privacy is just fallacy and nothing more.
