Hi there! Recently my very old pc has encountered a virus that makes it so i cannot boot the system to windows. Also, my old photos are still on that harddrive. Do you know of any way to recover those photos while not being able to get to Windows? Any answer would be very appreciated!

   Thanks in advance,

                                  ~Michael

You can make a usb stick with ubuntu on it, and you can boot from that, no need to install, ubuntu will just run from the usb stick, not ideal, but should give you the chance to get the photo's of the hdd.

edit: just follow this guide

If you need help with it, just ask.

If you want my attention, quote meh! D: or just stick an @samcool55 in your post :3

I would try DSL. Its 50MB compared to Ubuntu's 800+
