Hey Guys,

Is there anyway I can get 2 microphones to work simultaneously on my PC? I do not mind whether if it is a cheap external/hardware solution (e.g adapter, dongle, etc.), or whether it is a free software.

I have tried using Audiomeeter, however, I do not like the fact that my system sounds can be heard through the mic.

Here is some context:

I currently have Logitech G430's and I want to connect my keyboard to my PC via a 3.5mm audio cable, however I am unsure whether I can have both the keyboard and the microphone working at the same time on the PC. This will mainly be for Skype.

Do you know any solutions? Please keep in mind that I live in Australia so I am unable to buy from shops such as Newegg etc.

Thanks.

audacity?

I don't think he wants audio recording/manipulating software, just a tool to allow use of two microphones simultaneously. I haven't heard of such tools myself anyway...

I know that a dedicated mixer card/audio card would definitely get the job done (but they're costly  ). Since you're looking for just skype use, you can opt for the cheapest you can find.

Virtual audio cable . Just feed the two mic audios into a single virtual line . plug the first mic into the front pannel , and the second mic into the mobo I/O . Make sure it's not configured so the back mic gets muted when a front mic is plugged in .

http://vb-audio.pagesperso-orange.fr/Cable/index.htm this should do the job

So would I just plug the mics into my mobo and front panel, set the default playback/recording device to the virtual line, and both mics should be combined?

You could use the windows soution , but i don't know how reliable that is and it probably lacks advanced control or quality , or you could use the software mixer ( i think it's the voicemeeter ) from the link i gave you

Only specific software (i.e. maybe Adobe Audition) will record multiple tracks at once.

If you want them going to the same track/an easy route, you will need a mixer board

You can get them fairly inexpensively, however you will need microphones compatible with it (either high-powered line or XLR). Using a 3.5mm to XLR converter MAY work, but it may not.
