Using PC headset for PS3, Is it possible?

I currently own a Sades SA808 headset that only works on PC.

It has the standered Microphone/Audio Jacks and a USB to light up the LED's.

I don't want to spend money on another headset for PS3 itself and is why I'm asking if there is a way to use my PC headset on my PS3.

I want to use my microphone obviously and hear game volume through my headset. Links to videos, adapters, extensions etc. would be nice.

I'm not sure about the mic but you definitely can use them for sound output, if you can find a stereo 3.5mm to rca LR adapter and use the AV cable then in the PS3 settings making the AV / Multi out as the audio output rather then HDMI

Wouldn't this only take audio, not microphone?

Yes, Im not sure if you can make your Mic work there may be some sound card that is usb and is compatible with the ps3, i just haven't looked into before but I have used the rca cables in the past to get audio out. All you need now is to find a way to get the mic in as a input.

I found this, where it converts both the jacks into USB and you plug it in. However what would I connect it to and what do I need to do in order for both to work

Those are designed for PC, but there are people online saying that some do work that would in theory allow you to get both a mic input and audio out but its just if sony has the drivers in the ps3 to operate that adapter so you could use it for that purpose.

Quality is hit and miss with those things.

Not a cheap option but you could buy a Astro Mixamp and use that to connect your headset to your Console, its got volume control for voice volume and game volume so you can customize it, a few equalizer persets.  They work pretty good I use one with my Beryerdynamic MMX300 Headset for my PS4.

I'll test my Creative Sound Blaster play 2 tonight to see if it works on the ps3 and I'll also have a look at other sound cards that I own to see if any work.
