DA Chroma vs. G402

APrettyCoolWalrus

So my Razer Deathadder 2013 is acting really screwy recently, double clicking on LMB, odd jerks and movements in CS:GO. If I had the opportunity, I would return it to BestBuy and get a new one with the two year warranty, but I can't find the box that it came in or the receipt, so I think that is out of the question. I am also on a budget but I take my gear seriously, so here's what I need to know:

  • Which mouse has a superior sensor? Would I even find a difference in gameplay? (I'm into CS:GO, pretty much only that).
  • Which mouse has superior build quality/will last longer without issues such as double clicking/ sensor failure?
  • Does the G402 feel at least slightly similar to the DA 2013? I only ask this because I don't have the opportunity to go to a store yet and I would like to pick up the G402 and be used to it very quickly.

Also there's no need to mention it's up to preference, I already now that, just tell me what you think.

EDIT: I use 1000 dpi, just thought I would mention that. Also can I adjust the G402's dpi to exactly 1000 or does it only go in certain intervals?

Refurbished G502.

But don't most refurbs at least guarantee some form of bug?

no? they can be perfectly new mice just returned and recertified, also if there was anything wrong it was fixed. Refurbs can have tiny amounts of physical damage.

but it's fairly big for cs:go.

tbh both mice are very good, sensors are both near flawless I think. Don't know about DA. G402 has a classic MX518 shape which is very easy to get used to however for people who use claw grip it's not perfect.

alright thanks, and to @arnavvr I will at least consider the G502 but it does look odd and is a bit heavier than the G402/DA

if you use claw grip you should look into g303, finalmouse and zowie fk1/2 or za11/12/13 too  ;)

Personally I'd choose the G402 over the DeathAdder Chroma. I find it ergonomically better, more durable, probably a stronger sensor as well.
And yes, if you can grab a cheap G502 (which is what I just did this morning by ordering from a shop that is across my country with a good price), that's the best option

I swear by Deathadders so I'm probably not the best to ask here, but I really feel like they are the superior product all around.  They have a premium feel, and a few of the issues I had with the 2013 are fixed in the Chroma (like when you rest your finger on the left button and you accidentally press down the button).

G502, as LGS is an easier load for your PC compared to Synapse. I've had both DA and Logitech G502 and from experience I can tell that Logitech does it better. I also remembering getting an Orochi from them once and the buttons started double-clicking within three months.
