Worst Hardware Combination Ever!

So some times hardware conflicts happen.

And two or more pieces of hardware just won't work together in the same system.
So what it the worst hardware configuration or combination you ever seen/had. Ether due to extreme bottle necking or just terrible performance with parts that should work fine?

I once tried to run two IDE HDD (one 40GB and a 160GB Maxtor) off the integrated SATA to PATA controller on a Asus P5K motherboard. To be honest this feature was probably only meant to be used for DVD drives. Because of that the performance was absolutely terrible!
Vista wouldn't work as it would completely freeze up before I had any kind of chance of installing the driver for the SATA to PATA controller. I got it to work on XP but every time it needed to access something on the other disk the computer just hang for a few seconds.

There was also this weird problem that if I opened a folder with a file lager then about 1GB explore would crash and restart. But I was able to copy the folder itself to a USB stick and the read the file!

So do you have any Tech stories like this? (see what I did there)

I once bought some Pentium CPU from a second-hand shop for about £12. The computer I was using at the time had an awful 1.6GHz Celeron and a crappy OEM motherboard, so the Pentium was actually an upgrade. When I got it home, however, it turned out that the particular CPU I bought was one of about 10 LGA775 CPUs that was incompatible with that motherboard. Never mind poor performance, I got no performance at all.

Well if the forum is already flooded with threads about this should I so (if a can) delete this thread?

It's obviously not flooded, I was just pointing that out, I've seen at least 2 of these threads recently. ;)

Ok. The last thing I want to do as a new forum user is to post pointless crap :D

Ouch, that's brutal.

Wait... Just realized that my old desktop was a 1.6GHz Celeron socket LGA775 in a cheap ECS motherboard!

Then you can see why practically anything was an upgrade from that! Bloody thing couldn't even play Youtube Videos fullscreen.
