Don't bother.

An i5 is simply more ideal for the job. FX chips bottleneck like sin because of how weak they are as far as processors are concerned.

His question was if it can achieve good frame rates and yes it definitly can.

Depending on his GPU it's not a bad choice.

Of course an i5 or even i3 can accelerate in games much more, but your answer is simply wrong.

what's the cost difference between that and a I3?

because, my bro has a fx6300, and it can handle older games maxed out WITH EASE. hell, it can handle new games more than decent. you guys act like it can't even play games.

Yes, a I3 would be better. in your case a 8320 would also be fine.

Can this cpu achieve good fps max settings in older games like la noire max payne 3 resident evil 6,5 dead space 2 dead space crysis 2 deus ex human revolution, deadpool

Yes. Easily.

In new games it's not as consistent as competing Intel parts. I.e. In CPU heavy games Intel will perform better. But it will get a boost on next-gen games using DX12 and Vulkan, we saw proof of that in the boost it got from mantle. So it should last long enough...

Still an i5 is a better allround CPU. This is a good buy if you can save some money vs the i5.
