You might want more like 700-800 if you plan to upgrade a lot. If you don't plan to upgrade, 650 will be just fine.

It seems on paper to be a really good PSU :).

(just the one reviewed here is a higher wattage one but there really shouldnt be much difference apart from that).

and i believe Linus has Cooler Master V PSU's in his editing Rigs :D.

That's a good PSU but you should definitely get an Intel CPU....

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

You're going to be bottlenecking in all but a small number of games that support multi-threaded CPUs well. Definitely go with an i5 instead.

Yes, and for that price it's a great deal

Is there a good intel processor for around the same price point that you know of?

I'm planning on playing games like battlefield 4, other FPS games, and the new battlefront coming out this November as well as some more easy to run games (CS:GO, Minecraft, etc.). Is the build good enough for that?

BF4 and newer AAA titles will be okay but there will still be bottlenecking. CS:GO and Minecraft will rape the FX.

This is better for cheaper

CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($176.95 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: ASRock H97 Anniversary ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($69.89 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: PowerColor Radeon R9 290 4GB PCS+ Video Card  ($262.98 @ Newegg)
Total: $698.29
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Do you trust PowerColor?

I've never heard of any issues with it. If anything it's more reliable then the one you had picked, I've had nothing but problems with XFX graphics cards.

I actually found out that the cheaper r9 290 I was considering is not the pcs+ version. Do you know if the card is still good?

Which one?

Should I use the Gigabyte Windforce version instead?

I personally prefer MSI Lighting R9 290X because temperature only reach 71C plus low noise. Here is the video of Linus testing all non reference R9 290X, but if you are going to choose Gigabyte Windforce version, well good luck with 83C max load.

Get that one (PCS)

Are there any problems with the xfx card? Apparently the powercolor card has a few problems.

I've had 2 PowerColor cards with no issues, but nothing but problems with XFX cards O.o

Have you used a PowerColor r9 290 though?
