I was hoping someone could help me throw together a low budget build. I already have a pretty high end pc with an I7-4790k and gtx 980. This build would be intended for taking over to friends house for lan parties and such.

I already have some parts, that I'd be reusing from an old pc of mine, I have an FX-8350 cpu and a evga gtx 750ti gpu.

I'm just looking for a parts list in which I don't really have to spend a whole lot, not sure on a budget since I have the most expensive parts already, the cpu and gpu. I also kind of want an aftermarket cooler since the stock cooler for AMD cpus are loud as shit under almost any load. I'd prefer a cheap but decent case, and i don't really need very high storage space, or peripherals. As for OS i'd just buy that on reddit or g2a for $30.

I guess I'm hoping to spend less than $300.

Cheapest motherboard would be a GA-970A-UD3P for around $80, cooler would be 212 Evo for $30, PSU would be EVGA 600B for $50, memory would be another $50, HDD another $50 (assuming no SSD), and then your case of choice, I'd recommend a Fractal Design Core 2300 or 2500 for around $45, which comes out to around $305 plus taxes/shipping. This won't be all that great as your main components are pretty poor for gaming (CPU lacks single-threaded performance, GPU lacks performance period), but for a secondary rig it should still be able to play games like Dota2, CS:GO, and LoL very well. The problem is it wont be portable because no mITX boards exist for that CPU. You may consider selling it and going for an i3 ITX based build, which would do better in games and be more portable.

I put more money into aesthetics. Should definitly look really nice :)

This board would only be sufficient if you purposely gimped your CPU by undervolting and underclocking it. It can't really handle an FX-8350 at full load. Basically, you'd have to undervolt/clock it to turn it into an FX-8320E for me to feel safe.

Both of these boards will basically either throttle under load due to VRM temperatures, or if they dont have a sensor they'll just fail and die. They cannot handle the power demands of an FX-8350.

This is the cheapest board you should consider for your FX-8350:

An 8350 isn't that bad, it was the cpu i used in my first build, and a 750ti is a pretty decent card. I was able to play most games at high settings and stable frame rate

I'd probably go with one of these two.
