I am moving away from laptop gaming and finally decided to build my own. I already have the monitor.
Here is the component list, if you guys can have a look and suggest if something can be improved to reduced down.

Do you only do gaming? If so a i5-4690k is plenty. That would leave room for a 980Ti. Plus do you TRULY need a 500gb SSDs? SSDs are meant to be a boot drive and have some of your favorite games/files on it. If your budget is $2500 a 980ti might be worth it for that 144hz for more demanding games like GTA v and Witcher 3

I will down the SSD. But for core i7, I have discounted i7 for the same price of i5 , thats why i am going with i7.
Regarding 980ti, I have seen many response that its overkill for 1080p gaming and should only buy for 1440p or 4k.
also I used MSI gtx 980 coz of red/black color of my most component.
Just to be curious if I do go the way of 980 ti, which one would you recommend strix or MSI ?

Get the 390x instead. Lands itself between the 980 and the 980ti, while being less costy than both.
