Define R5 Blinking LED

Hi everyone,

I just completed my first build with the Define R5 (Blackout Edition) and noticed that the front panel LED is blinking between blue and white.

I followed the user manual in setting up the front panel display connections on the motherboard so I am almost certain it's not something to do with the connections.

I've tried to find if this is normal or an actual issue but came up empty. I know the led is supposed to be blue so maybe the blinking means there's network activity? I am not sure.

If anyone has any ideas if this is normal or not I would appreciate it.

Thanks!

Unless I'm very much mistaken the only inputs for the LEDs on an R5 are power and HDD activity.  The Blinking is probably the latter, but even then it does surprise me that it's white.

Unplug one of the HDD led pins on the motherboard and see if the blinking stops.

Maybe you connected it to HDD activity light header on the mobo? Not sure why they would include 2 colors power led :/

Post a pic.

It was the power switch led that was blinking. Looks like the connector labels are wrong because by plugging in what is labeled as the HDD LED connector to the Power LED pins outlined in the manual, the light is now a constant blue. Though if I plug in the Power LED connectors to the HDD LED pins, there's blinking again... though more blue than white. Looks like I will be keeping the wrongly labeled HDD LED connectors unplugged.
What other light is supposed to blink with the HDD LED? Seems like both connectors are tied to the power switch led light.
