Issues with Xonar D2X Soundcard (Click, weird noise…)

Hey, I just bought myself a new soundcard that can run/drive my 150Ohm Headset. I ended up buying the Xonar D2X, the card is used but I was allowed to test before I paid anything (600 NOK or 100 USD).

I have 2 minor issues now which I don’t really know how to fix or if it’s normal:

Issue #1: Every time I turn the computer on I can hear a click sound coming from the soundcard (The sound wasn't there before I put the soundcard in), is this normal?

I have my GPU in the top PCIx16 slot and my soundcard in the bottom PCIx1 slot.

Issue #2: I’ve used the soundcard since Sunday, and people that I’ve been talking to on Skype have been complaining about some weird sounds that comes and goes when I play Garry’s mod (haven’t really tested other games).

I know about this issue with Razer headsets but I’ve never heard about this with my headset (specs below).

Not really an issue #3: Does anybody know about any good drivers that is better than both the Unified and original drivers?

I’m using some modified original drivers which gives it a tad more bass.

3. No, I don't know of any better drivers. The UNI driver works fine for me.

Yes in the menu "Recording devices".(It's probably not called that in norwegian) I had a problem were it would play my game audio over VoIP, because it thought I had a WAVE device connected.

I don't know about settings in the UNI driver. I just installed them and it worked.

I did that but the problem is that the sound is still there, my friend says that it's some really high sound, not just static (i have NO static actually). I've tested this with teamspeak and i have no problems there. But on Skype there is really weird and annoying sound coming from my mic :(

Anybody who knows?

Skype has some weird problems when it comes to background noises. You could try and play around with Mic boost and the mic volume.

I changed my mic from being into the internal soundcard and the on-board soundcard. On the onboard i don't have any issues but it's super low. On the internal soundcard the sound comes back. I'm trying to lower the "volume" now^^
