Hey guys I'm New to PC Building/Gaming and am coming directly from the PS3 because the PS4 never seemed worth buying and I know that PC's are objectively, when playing the same game, better than any consoles. Knowing this, I am looking to build a PC that run a constant 144fps on Ultra Settings 1080p(or 1440 if possible) on even the most demanding of games. Could you guys help out on the most cost efficient, not cheap, but cost efficient build I can make. I've already picked my monitor.

Monitor: Acer Predator XB270HU (1440p, 144hz w/ G-Sync,)

CPU:??

GPU: ??

Ram: ??

Motherboard: ??

HDD: ??

Just an FYI, you're looking at 2 flagship cards to get 144Hz 1440p at ultra. This will cost around $1300 for the GPUs alone if you go with the best option.

This. And even then there are still games where you won't get 144FPS at ultra. Either lower your standards or wait for technology to catch up.

The most cost effective you'd easily need a 4790k, 980Tis in SLI ect ect.

Can I get a budget?

He'd be looking at 2 of them for his monitor.

Depends on the game, but yes, 2 would probably be needed to drive games like TW3 and GTA V

just wondering why not WD Black? ,maybe + a small SSD?

Also fine, but the WD Blue is just a cheap, solid drive ;)

The i7 wouldn't be needed for gaming. An i5 4690K would be enough, or a Xeon if he wanted the rendering/editing performance without so much cost as the i7.

I'll pick the keyboard and mouse after the main rig is complete and I'm hoping not to need to overclock.

Overclocking isn't bad. Even a small one helps and now a days it's one click overclocks.

Yeah not now. Games ar gonna start using the multiple threads the 4790k offers and 980Ti in SLI with a i5-4690k doesn't seem right to me.

Can I get a exact budget? $1000 would be enough but you would be getting about 60fps. $1250 would be great for a single 980ti, an i5, a nice size SSD and ect. If you want 1440p 100+FPS you'd be looking around $1800-$2000

Budget well I haven't bought anything gaming/technology related for a while so I have money. But for practicalility's sake and to give you a number $2000 sounds cool so I'll go with that number.

Forgot how expensive Canada is. Choose whatever case you want, the NZXT h440 should be a little cheaper. 8gbs of ram may be enough. Since you don't wanna overclock I got a Xeon in there and now that I think about it a BeQuiet! Pure rock should be plenty. They should have a cheaper 980ti that's one of the upper end acx2.0 ones. With this build there is plenty of future proofing to be able,to add another 980ti for SLI And overclocking them.

Is that Graphics card that powerful?
