Go to solution Solved by defunkt,

8350. The answer to most problems.

I had an old Phenom in my build and was thinking about going intel but saved to much money because I didnt have to get a new motherboard, I would say just get the 8350

I am gaming and video rendering.

If you already have a AM3+ motherboard i would say go for the FX 8350. The performance is great and in games it's not much worse than a Haswell. But if you are willing to spend the money, Haswell is a great upgrade

In that case just get the FX8350. And since you're gaming and rendering invest the rest of your money in a GPU upgrade for a 7950 or a 7970. Especially now that all the video editing programs are starting to take advantage of Open CL to the point where Logan from TekSyndicate swaps out his GTX780 for a 7970 to render faster with Open CL...
