Hey guys, I got an issue with my pc, again....

Basically my PC "half-freezes" after startup.

By that i mean i can do some stuff like opening task manager, nvidia control panel, i can open up any files etc.

But stuff like chrome, steam, spotify etc. won't start at all for like 5min.

While that is going on, my network icon in the bottom right has a little loading icon on it and doesn't seem to be connected to the internet.

After the icon finally displays an existing connection, everything works fine again.

I reinstalled my lan driver, nvidia drivers that didn't work.

Booting into safe mode seems to solve the problem, so that kinda further implies a software related issue i guess, but I can't figure it out any further.

Please need some advice, thanks in advance.

EDIT: Seems like "NVIDIA Network Service" and "NVIDIA Streamer Service" are causing the connection problems, deactivating them from in the services list solved it...

Check your start up programs in the task manager.

Check your start up programs in the task manager.

my startup programs list is basically epmty, only the nvidia stuff, realtek audio driver, logitech mouse driver, usb3 driver, AVG.

First i thought it might be the logitech driver but after removing that from the list, nothing.

That is a common problem. Something in the startup is causing it, try getting rid of some stuff from startup. It's well known that software that requires internet to work won't sometimes start while the lan/wlan is showing the "spinning" icon. :)

Ok that's good to know.

But I literally have nothing in my startup list, that's the weird part about it...

Nvidia experience takes ages to load on my laptop (it's a 5400rpm drive) and I have Avast and Dropbox in startup too which are heavy. Reinstalling windows will fix it for sure, but that's not a practical solution.

Safe mode just loads the necessary drivers the PC needs to just work and it kicks quite a bit of stuff from startup, that's why it works most likely. Do you use your lan/wlan drivers or the factory drivers that came with windows? Any recent changes to your PC?

I'm using the intel lan driver from gigabyte's website for my mainboard and I didn't make any changes.

Maybe it's somthing to do with my boot SSD, it has like 150 MB writes instead of the 450MB it should have.

Is it full? Why has it slowed down so much?

no it has 50GB of 120 available and I did all of the SSD stuff like these http://www.techradar.com/news/computing-components/storage/12-ssd-tips-to-optimise-your-drive-s-performance-943984, but still it is so slow at writing.

But I just disabled the non windows services and after reboot it works fine, so something from there is causing it.

Process of elimination. Turn on 1 by 1 and reboot every time until you find out what it is. Might take a couple of reboots but you will find the culprit! :D

Ok I finally got it.

The "NVIDIA Network Service" and "NVIDIA Streamer Service" are causing it... no clue what those are for, hopefully nothing important so I can just keep them disabled... :D

Thanks for bearing thru it with me :D

Most likely something to do with streaming from shadowplay to twitch or something like that. Google it to check, but it seems it's nothing important.

No problem, glad you solved it! :D
