While it is true that the 900x > 700x > 500x.  The higher you go in the 3-digits, the more refined the sound you will get.  Which is a great plus for AT's signature sound.  But bass...you aren't going to get jack even if you do get the 900x.

If you're on a budget, stick with the 500x or the 700x depending on the price.  In some markets the 700x has barely a markup from the 500x, while in others it's nearly $100+ more expensive.

Don't get me wrong, it just has enough to be acceptable. The 700X is just too gutless to recommend, as the SHP9500 does everything they do with a much more neutral sound signature and only marginally worse soundstage.

What I meant was that the decision to buy either the 500x, 700x, or 900x, shouldn't based on some notion that the 700x has more bass or the 900x has more bass, because I'm gonna tell you now...none of them have bass, no-bass + no-bass = no-base, the low tones are the last places you should be differing these cans because theres literally no difference between them at those frequencies.

AKA the 900x is just as "gutless" as the 700x, so might as well save a few bucks and get a 500x/700x.  The next meaningful upgrade in this line is the 1000x, which is way out of budget.

Probably the only one in that segment that will meet your needs is the Fidelio X1.

yeah but i dont really want a base heavy, i already have the m50, so i dont need a second pair of bass headphones.
