Minimum CPU for streaming

Go to solution Solved by Homicidium,

I'd probably suggest a lower end i5 or one of the i3's with HT.

Well any CPU can do it just looking at what has better performance for it. Is it in a separate streaming pc or in your everyday pc?

as opposed to an i3 without HT

For streaming + playing games, i suggest either Nvidia card + i5, or AMD card with FX 8370e (yes, specifically the "e" version). The FX should only EVER be used, if you already have an AMD mobo, or you want to go full budget (FX 8370e is a 95w CPU, it can run off any 970 board and doesnt require a beefy 8+1 power delivery).

But as a rule of thumb

BUY AN i5

and if you are still in doubt

BUY AN i5

And if you still think that isnt good enought

BUY AN i7

and if you cannot afford a i7

GET A LGA 1150 XEON

and if you still arent happy - get the FX and come back here asking for a new CPU in 3-4 months time.
