Haswell CPUs run hot, but 100c is dangerous for your CPU, maybe you should try reapplying your thermal paste. Why are you so set on 4.6ghz?

Do not push the CPU voltages that far. You want a max of 75C. The recommended max voltage for Haswell is 1.35. What is the highest stabil overclock you have achieved? You might just have a bad overclocker on you hands.

I haven't actually reached a stable over clock with this CPU yet but my last CPU was a 3770k which got stable at 4.2GHZ at 1.25v

You shouldn't aim as high as 4.6GHz in the first run. Try and get something like 4.0GHz first to establish how well the chip overclocks.

Would 85C be too high? I'm only overclocking because I have 2 GTX 680s, otherwise I wouldn't bother.

No 85C is still to hot. 75C is the recommended max temp

Learn your CPU first. Baby steps.Personally I always start by under-volting the chip while it's running at it's stock frequency then I can establish at what "under-volted voltage" it's stable at and I start bumping it up from there.

Ok il start from there then

I'm trying to get my CPU stable at 4.6GHZ and have tried setting the voltage from 1.200 to 1.400 doing 0.050 increases every time it failed and now the temps are reaching 100C while running prime95 and using a h100 CPU cooler, can anyone give me some advice?

Don't use prime 95 it is not validated for the new intel chips use Intel Extreme tuning utility download from here http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/motherboards/desktop-motherboards/desktop-boards-software-extreme-tuning-utility.html

This might give you a different temp range i don't get over 75 degrees doing this at 4.6 and 1.33V

That thing's a beast! If you're using the stock fans that are included with the H100.......just don't!

What do you mean??
