so my trusty sound blaster tactic 3d headset just snapped... it is being held together by zip ties atm ( linus would be proud to see his ziptie skills inspired my fix ) and i need a new headset quick. i need something comfortable, easy to wear for 2+ hours, something that has good sound and a decent quality mic. im ok with wired as long as it has a long cord and its usb. wireless would be better but since im only using it for my pc its fine if it isnt.  and lastly my budget is to stick as close to 100$ CAD as possible. if you have any recommendations it would be appreciated !

Headset with usb for 100 CAD is not enough for a decent headset in my opinion, would be better to buy a headphone + mic in this price range.

Asus Orion Pro is the most comfortable headset i have ever worn hands down. (Stomps on the Corsair Vengeance 1500, Siberia v2, Razer Kraken, Roccat Kave 5.1 and many others).

Its mic quality is above average for a gaming headset and the sound too.

It is USB powered but you can easily skip the included dongle and use the 2 3,5mm jacks.

It has a 250cm long cable which is braided all the way.

7.1 surround sound (if u give a crap about that)

if you can drop the USB requirement, grab a hyperx cloud.

what would be better to get. a usb or a audio jack connector ? im really thinking of going with the cloud 2`s but what would be better to use ? my mother board has a Realtek ALC1150 dac and a amp capable of pushing 600 ohms, its the gigabyte z97x-sli, so would it be better to you the included amp/dac thing on the usb dongle or use my mother board amp/dac with the audio jacks

i personally really prefer the on-board audio of high end motherboards.

they're not going to blow the reputation of a €120 motherboard by having bad on-board audio.

Sure, if you're willing to spend $20 on no difference other than paint/dye.
